Living and Loving the Catholic Faith in a more profound and intentional way
In today’s world, being a Catholic Christian can be defined and lived out in many ways. One thing is certain, however; being a Catholic Christian has nothing to do with being traditional or contemporary, liberal or conservative. Our Lord Jesus would never have considered defining himself by such worldly qualifiers; therefore, a Catholic Christian cannot and should not be defined by such banal and shallow titles. We follow Christ, God made man, not just an ideology and we know from His life that Jesus Christ perfectly embodied three ways every Catholic Christian should seek to live; being faithful, loving and obedient.
Faithful: Living out the Catholic Faith in word and deed. Striving to live and breathe the Sacraments as an ever-deepening experience of God’s divine presence in our lives. Seeking always to give witness to Jesus as the Way, the Truth and the Life.
Loving: A total gift of self defines our entire existence, which is intimately rooted in love of God and neighbor. Love is embodied by the divine grace we receive in God’s Word and Sacraments, without which we could never fulfill our true purpose in the world and, thus, reap the fruits unto eternal life.
Obedient: Jesus was obedient unto death, death on the Cross, and we therefore strive to put to death our pride, ego and selfish passions in order to submit ourselves to God’s commandments. We believe God’s commandments, however difficult they may seem to embrace, accept and live out, lead us to authentic freedom, happiness, peace and eternal salvation.
At the end of your life, you will not be asked how much money you made, how successful or popular you were or how much time you spent on this or that in order to be happy in this life. Rather, the question posed will be how much did you love? How much did you truly love God? How much did you truly love your neighbor? Did you live out the Catholic Faith in word and deed? Was your relationship with Jesus the most important aspect of your life? Did you receive the Sacraments in vain, only as milestones in your life or that of your children, never to return to give thanks to God in the Holy Mass except when it was convenient for you? Were you obedient to the Church’s teaching in all things? Did the Ten Commandments conform your life to Christ? Were you quick to forgive others and to receive forgiveness in the Sacrament of Confession when you sinned?
Life is so short. You must make the best of your time here on earth and never waste a moment on the cares of this world. A world of happiness, peace, joy and divine life await you. However, the door is only open to those who ardently seek to live out their Catholic Faith and love the Lord Jesus with their whole mind, heart, soul and strength.
The following video testimonials are given by Catholics throughout the world. The goal is to share with you the power of God’s grace and how God desires everyone to ongoing conversion of heart. If you have been away from the Church or have not been practicing the faith, we hope and pray that these personal testimonials and conversion stories will inspire you to return home where God is waiting for you with open arms.
Jesus said, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, then I will enter his house and dine with him, and he with me.”
